Thin places,thin times.

The Celtic view that we find thin places and thin times everywhere is one of the themes of my spiritual memoir, Resilience of a Dram Catcher, just published.  See http://www.paschalbaute.com/resilience, where you  can view 20% of the book free, plus find much more information about the book, including praise and endorsements.

The 10th Annual Retreat on the Union of Psychology and Spirituality was held this past weekend by the Ohio Psychology Association, at Mohican State Park in Ohiol  I was privilletged to help lead three workshops.  February 28-March 1, 2014.

In the Fireside Chat Friday eve, some 30 psychologists were asked to reflect on where they found personal resources for offering hope and inspiration to their hurting clients.  We reflected privately first, then in pairs, then in fours and finally in the whole group. The depth, honesty and vulnerability of the sharing was deeply moving to me. We shared how our own traumas had become gifts allowing us to connect with others' deep pain and hurt. We found the thin places of beauty and transformation in our actual experience. It was one of the most beautiful, authentic and revealing evenings I have ever shared. This was the diamond of the retreat in which all our brilliant lights shone, like stars in the night.  Unforgettable. One of my last chapters in my memoir s is on epiphanies, large and small This very unique Retreat has become one of the highlights of my entire year. ; another memoir chapter is how we find light out of darkness. The evening was a Celtic moment. Never have I found professional persons sharing at such a deep level, with joy and gratitude. March 6, 2014

Some of us are engaged in a project of taking this kind of reflective sharing to other states adn otehr psychologists.
